ANDREA FIAMENGHI
BRAZILIAN PHOTOGRAPHER

About the Artist
Andrea Fiamenghi is a Brazilian photographer with over twenty years of experience, whose work has been showcased in exhibitions in Salvador, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, Paris, and Lisbon.
She has contributed to important curatorial projects alongside names such as Paulo Herkenhoff and Emanoel Araújo, and exhibited with celebrated artists including Mario Cravo Neto and Pierre Verger. Her photographs form part of permanent collections in institutions like the Museu do Mar and the Museu Nacional de Belas Artes in Rio de Janeiro, and the Museu Afro Brasil in São Paulo.
Fiamenghi has dedicated much of her practice to capturing the daily rituals and spiritual ceremonies of Ilê Axé Opô Aganjú, a Candomblé terreiro in Bahia. Her images transcend mere documentation, illuminating the rituals, mysticism, and natural elements that speak to both the divine and human experience.
Fiamenghi’s work captures the fierce beauty of Bahia’s landscape and the powerful presence of African orixás, presenting a poetic narrative that celebrates the interplay of nature, culture, and spirituality.
